     My mother having been born In County Mayo, Ireland and emigrating to the USA in 1907 made this book very real to me especially when Maryanne sent for Dr. Madden to check her daughter's health. The book truly captivated my attention and I also learned some new words - used the dictionary quite frequently. I can't wait to read some more of the author's books.
