| "Welcome to the Great Mysterious" starts out as a nice story about a Broadway actress who returns to Minnesota for a month. She goes there to look after her Down's Syndrome nephew while his parents have a much needed vacation. She becomes acquainted with the nephew and neighbors who help each other in various ways. This novel turns from a nice story into a great read for two reasons. First is the depth of the relationships that are built as the story continues and as a tragedy occurs. Secondly is the reason for the title. I won't give it away here, but the "Great Mysterious" is a meaningful and thought-provoking aspect of the novel. Enjoy | ||||||||
